In the wake of the senseless and tragic murder of Heath Jackson, I want to call on those feeling anger and bitterness to let go. It is so easy to hate and judge and condemn this man, but Satan wants this wickedness to take over your heart, to question God and His very existence. Instead lift this lost soul up in love and prayer that he comes to know God, lets Him into his heart, and seeks the forgiveness he already has from us, his brothers and sisters. Mourn our own loss and pray for God’s strength as his family copes with his death, but rejoice, for Heath is a saint among angels, and “precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints” (Psalm 116:15). Let his life be a testament and inspiration in how we treat each other and how we raise our families, and he will never be gone from us and his death will not have been in vain.
In love,
Marissa
